Illustration for the Latin American & Caribbean Festival
Illustration
Hamburg
For the 12th edition of the Latin American & Caribbean Festival in Hamburg, I developed the main illustration and visual concept for the event. The festival is organized by the EULAC Foundation, with the support of the Hamburg Senate, and celebrates culture, music, and community from Latin America and the Caribbean.
The creative concept was developed around the festival’s central theme: a bridge between two regions. The illustration celebrates Latin American and Caribbean culture while reflecting Hamburg as a place that has become home for many people from these regions. It visually expresses connection, belonging, and cultural exchange — honoring cultural roots while acknowledging the city where new identities continue to grow.
This edition marked a milestone for the festival, as it was the first year with a professionally developed visual identity. The illustration was applied across all communication materials, including posters and large-format placements throughout the city and in Hamburg’s U-Bahn stations, significantly increasing the festival’s visibility and recognition.
The project demonstrates how illustration can function as a powerful storytelling tool — not only to decorate, but to create presence in public space, strengthen cultural representation, and connect diverse communities across the city.
